Originally I wanted to play with rainbow colors, but in a circular pattern. As I began working, the colors fell into place and I almost went into a sort of trance, losing track of the time as I had a conversation with the colors and where they wanted to go next.
This drawing was created in my studio in Lilongwe and really came together by the shores of Lake Malawi in Senga Bay, Salima where I was staying for the holidays with my family during yet another Covid surge. As I put pen to paper in an effort to put my fears, uncertainties, and concerns behind me, I felt almost like the drawing absorbed my anxieties and converted them into peaceful orbs which radiate comfort and optimism.
