Lilian's Lovebird -Heart Chakra Meditation is the fourth painting in my chakra series that symbolizes the heart chakra. This chakra is most often associated with the color green and sometimes also pink/rose. The balance of this chakra represents our ability to love and be loved.
The heart chakra is the fourth of seven main energy centers in the body located in the chest area just above the heart. I chose Lilian's Lovebird to represent this chakra because of its beautiful green color and also because it flies. Air is the element associated with this chakra.
The concept of chakras dates back to ancient India, as early as 1500 BC. According to mindbodygreen.com, "With an open heart chakra, you can achieve true compassion and empathy—for others and yourself."
The first time I saw Lilian's Lovebird was in the wild at Liwonde National Park in Malawi. Later I learned that this particular lovebird is almost exclusively found in Malawi and particularly at Liwonde, as they are very difficult to breed in captivity.
That seemed especially fitting for a symbol of love. This image is well suited to be hung in any space that could benefit from peaceful, loving, empathetic, compassionate, and contemplative vibes. It's especially well suited for reading rooms, creative spaces, workshops, yoga studios, meditation areas, bedrooms, and sitting areas.
